A few challenge pieces

Good morning Lovelies and thank you so much for all the fantastic comments you have left, it really warms my heart and makes me smile!

Today I'm posting a few things I've made recently for challenges, they include lots of techniques : Fran-tage, Gelli Plate, Texture paste with micro beads (thank you Eileen) distress paints, gilding wax, masks by SplodgeAway, stencil and paste by Sweet Poppy, butterfly stamp by Indigoblu, grasses by Visible Image, bird and flowers on bottom card are Inkylicious, flowers on green card plus sentiment are Dylusions! I hope you like them, I know there are pieces here tat don't suit everyone's tastes but I do like to experiment, many thanks, and have a great Friday and weekend xxx

New Twinchies Challenge blog!

Good morning Lovelies! I like to give a very warm welcome to my new followers! Hope everyone had a fab bank holiday weekend enjoying the gorgeous sunshine?

I have some exciting news! As you can see there is a new Twinchies challenge blog! The lovely Beverley Tonk from Beecrafty http://www.beecrafty.net/ had heard that Show us your Twinchies was ending this month and thought there needed to be a Twinchie challenge blog! I couldn't agree more lol! So here we are! http://twinchieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

Beverley asked me to be on the DT!

Of course I jumped at the chance, I just love the little things!

The first challenge is "Free for all"

so you can create a Twinchie in any style, colour or theme you like.

Twinchies are 2 inch by 2 inch square,

you can use whatever medium you like?

My first I dipped my card into melt pot and stamped using the

fabulous Circles cluster set from http://designsbyryn.com/

I inked it with gold brilliance before stamping into

the molten utee,

The flowers were chip board bits I've had years,

so into the melt pot they went too,

I added Yellow dew drops to the centers.

I used part of the "Dandelion" stencil from Sweet poppy

with dimension stencil medium also from Sweet poppy, while

Wet I chucked on some clear micro beads and a bit or glitter.

Gelli plate background, Jofy minis stamp by Paperartsy,

I had to cut and piece together this one as it was too long,

you can see the join lol!

I coloured it with Spectrum Noirs.

Same Gelli plate BG with free stamp from Craft stamper mag.

Coloured in with Spectrum Noirs and washed over with Dustress stain.

Zoe challenge #6 "Fantasy/Mythical"

Good morning Lovelies! And a very warm welcome to new followers! Here is my sample for this fortnight s challenge for Rhedd and Rosie's!

We are using his digi images for our samples, I think you'll agree they are amazing?

I printed the image onto watercolour card, I used my Pan Pastels to create the background, masking off the moon, the wisps of clouds in the moon were created with an eraser just a rubber one! My image I coloured using watercolour pencils and a water brush, I mounted it onto some dark brown card I'd cut and embossed with a spellbinder die I rubbed gold gilding wax around the edges to give an aged effect! Directly onto the 8x8 base card I masked the edges, gave a light spray of green Dylusions and a splatter of brown Dylusions spray inks and with a two Dylusions masks inked through a bit randomly with Old paper DI, I hope you like my creation? Zoe May Challenge Show us your Twinchies "Lavender or Lace"

Good Morning Lovelies! I hope your all enjoying the Bank holiday weekend?

Sadly this is our last challenge! We all feel its time to move on from this wonderful little challenge, we all have other DT commitments and busy lives.

I can only repeat what Eileen and Barbara have said "A huge thank you" I've so enjoyed looking at your wonderful little works of unique art! It's amazing how you all come up with something different on what can be quite a challenge literally! Lol

I've enjoyed my time with Show us your Twinchies, for me a special one as its the very first DT I've been on! I'm sad it's coming to an end but life does have a habit of moving on and hopefully to better things! Xxx

Here are my samples for this challenge! I must admit! When I saw the theme I thought I was going to struggle with it! But once I started I couldn't stop lol!

 

 

 

The Lace was created with a stamp by Kanban, the Lavender colour is a Dylusions spray ink, I've used some micro beads as the body of the butterfly and centre of one of the flowers!

Canvas for Visible Image!

Good morning Lovelies! Well I say morning I'm actually scheduling this post for the morning as I've already posted 2 projects today! I don't want you getting bored lol!

So I've done another small canvas, my last from my pack of 3! Might have to get more? I've quite enjoyed doing them! I'm entering this into Visible Image challenge the theme being "brighten your day" http://visibleimage.blogspot.co.uk/

I created the background with Pan Pastels and SplodgeAway masks and some sequin waste, I used some iridescent texture paste through a mask and highlighted once dry with some turquoise gilding wax! I stamped all my images except the butterfly onto white tissue paper cut them out and brushed them on with beeswax from my melt pot, the butterfly I coloured with pan pastel onto card, a few dew drops and voila! I hope you like it? I'm quite pleased with it! Thank you very much for visiting I really appreciate it xxx

Zoe May Challenge "Tim Holtz Homage"

Good morning Lovelies! Another month gone, boy the time is flying, anyway my post today is my DT sample for Cards Galore, the theme this month as you can see is "Tim Holtz Homage" I kind of put my own mark on the theme, by using Tim Holtz products, well the flowers and leaves are actually Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 stamps which I stamped onto grunge paper which is great for moulding and holding its form! I used Distress stains to colour the resist Kraft paper I ran the blue side through my grand caliber using a Tim Holtz EF and lightly inked over the raised bits with Black Soot DI.

Guest designer for Lavinia stamps!

Good morning Lovelies! And what a beautiful one it is too!

Well can you imagine how excited I was when the lovely Eileen Godwin asked "me" to be a Guest Designer on Lavinia Stamps blog? Wow! Still need to pinch myself! Eileen had seen some of my Art Journal pages I'd blogged before and asked if I would do this for my spot! The theme is Pastel Shades! Which actually was quite a challenge as my art journal is mostly bright and bold, so not one to let it beat me I went to work and here's my results:

 

I used a combination of techniques from pan pastels and distress inks to texture paste and gilding wax, and a SplodgeAway mask thrown in for good measure lol! Oh and a bit of glitter of course! What fairy would be complete without a bit of sparkle!

Of course Lavinia Stamps are fabulous! The quality of the stamps and the fabulous designs are second to none! I have to admit I have a fairy vast collection which is vastly growing! Well why not!
