Zoe - week 47 "Mixing with Fluid"

Good morning Lovelies! This week at Premium Craft Brands we are mixing our Pan Pastels with fluid, that can be any fluid! I have mixed mine with Maimeri Glassy Gel, I used the edge of Caught Butterfly mask, I used Bright yellow green Pan Pastels for the background colour then mixed the Bright yellow green Extra Dark with the Glassy Gel through the mask, once dry it really is glassy, great effect, I don't think the photo really does it justice?

Thank you for visiting, have a great weekend xxx

Sheena Douglass stamps and re-inkers!

Good evening Lovelies! It's been a blooming miserable day today, a great excuse to craft, and I've crafted a lot today, most I cannot share, but this one I can, I was really just playing but quite like the result.

I just put a tiny drop of various colour Distress re inkers on my craft mat and spritzed with water, picked it up with paint brush and just flicked it over the reverse side of Centura Pearl card, I dried between colours so they didn't mingle into mud, the re inkers are very intense colour, I then painted my stamped image and flowers with the rest of the ink, I used Wendy Vecchi honeycomb mask on the corners for a bit more texture.

I hope you like it? Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful weekend xx

Zoe - Challenge # 20 "Christmas is coming"

Good morning Lovelies! Well it's certainly feeling quite Christmassy already, the shops are done up the weather is cold, and the adverts have started!

Our theme over at Rhedd and Rosie's is "Christmas is Coming" you can enter here don't forget we are an "Anything goes" challenge so as long as you follow the theme it can be anything! please make sure that your entry contains 2 or more of these listed elements please : Gift, Angel, Tree, Bauble, Star, Bell or Stocking!

I love Christmas, this Christmas is going to be very different for us this year! Firstly our darling little Ruby (fostered baby) moved on to her new forever family on the 9/11/13 a day after her first birthday, I can't tell you how utterly devastated we both are, well it's the same each time one of them has moved lol! But it's wonderful for her and her new family. Bittersweet! So we aren't going to have a baby or little one for Christmas this year :,( our first one in nearly 5 years of Fostering.

But the most wonderful thing is, we are going to spend Christmas in Canada with our wonderful daughter and her boyfriend, how exciting is that? We've not seen her for 2 years as she's been studying hard at Uni. It's going to be very cold I expect, but I've got some thermals lol

This fortnights challenge is sponsored by "Craft shapes Torbay" and they are offering this amazing prize it retails at £14.99 please make sure that your entry contains 2 or more of these listed elements please : Gift, Angel, Tree, Bauble, Star, Bell or Stocking!

This post I'm dedicating to our gorgeous little Ruby! I have made my pieces for her, they will go in her "memory box" hopefully they will be put on their tree as a memory of us?
Bye bye sweetheart Love you so much! Xxxxxxx taken just before she left 9/11/2013
So on to my samples! As soon as I got them I knew I wanted to give them to Ruby, so I've kept them simple, just painted with Distress paints having Gesso'd them first of course, the angel I used gilding flakes, but the other 2 I heat embossed with silver EP, I have to say! The embossed ones came out better, I have done both sides, added some Tim Holtz tinsel and voila!
I hope you like my decorations? Thank you for visiting, I hope you join in, don't forget to pop along to the rest of our very talented DT samples! Bye for now have a great day xxx

Christmas with Jofy!

Good morning Lovelies! What beautiful weather over the weekend for us! Cold but sunny and dry, just how I like it! Well we had a new front door fitted yesterday (Sunday) and the idiot cut our phone line off! So we have no landline or internet, I've managed to tap into a very shaky wifi hotspot but not sure how long for? Hopefully we will be back online today?

So while I had no internet yesterday I had a play with my Christmas Jofy stamps, oh how I love Jofy!

I stamped some of my images onto music sheet and text paper and cut bits out and paper pieced just to create some interest, with the use of some distress inks, sequin waste and masks to create some interesting backgrounds I think I've made some quite funky looking cards? I hope you like them?

Zoe - Week #46 "Colouring Embellishments"

Good morning Lovelies and a happy weekend to you all!

This week at Premium Craft Brands we have been colouring our Embellishments with Pan Pastels, I've chosen to make a Christmas card.

I started by laying down Permanant Red and green Pans onto card then sprayed with cheap hairspray, then I stamped music background stamp using Versamark ink pad, I then lightly swept over with the lighter gold metallic Pans, I die cut some tattered poinsettia's

The background is also pan pastel metallics on versamark and also the green strip is stamped with versamark using a stripe stamp and colouring with Pan Pastels.

Thank you for visiting, I hope I've inspired you to join in? Have a great day, Zoe xxx

Splodgeaway DT samples

Good morning Lovelies! Well it's wet wet wet today, oh how I hate rain, give me a cold blustery but bright day anytime!

Today my samples are for Splodgeaway, I've combined two weeks in this post, the first was to feature sparkles for fireworks, I used the swirlie mask which I first inked through with Black Soot DI then went over with Imagination Crafts glitter gel, it adds dimension as well as sparkle, so it created some lovely texture, the background is DI's blended then splashed with bit of water to create a shabby aged look.

My second card, was extremely simple to create using the fabulous Holly mask, I love this mask! I used the two different Christmas seasonal greens DI's to create the leaves and give a slightly variegated effect and the Red for the berries, I used the iced spruce around the edges, to draw you into the design and give a more shabby look, the addition of a sticker just incase you didn't know it's Holly! Lol
I have actually dedicated this card to a certain cute little bundle with the same name! ;)
Thank you for visiting today, have a great day Zoe xxx

Zoe - Week 45 "Altered Media"

Good morning Lovelies! I hope your enjoying your weekend?

So here we are week 45! phew time flies! This week our challenge theme is "Altered Media" over at Premium Craft Brands, don't be put off by this theme, "Alter" means "to change the appearance or use of something" so it could be anything in any theme, after all you are altering a piece of card if your making a card aren't you? But of course it would be fabulous to see what other items you can alter? I've had a go at altering Playing Cards, I'm pretty pleased how they've turned out.

I started with Maimeri Gesso, then used Yellow Ochre Pan Pastels then using the "Butterfly Caught" huge mask and Maimeri Light modelling paste, gave them some lovely texture, once dry I went over with Yellow Ochre Tint Pan pastels, not forgetting to give generous squirts of cheap hairspray between layers to seal it, then a light dusting of the lighter gold Metallic Pan Pastels, if you've not tried the Metallics yet, you really must they are scrummy, very subtle used on their own but used with versamark or perfect medium they give a fabulous richness, I love gilding wax, but I've found mine are quite redundant since I've had my Metallic Pans! Anyway I embellished my cards using various stamps cut out and decoupaged, I hope you like my project, why not have a go, there is a fab prize for the winner, and we pick a top 3 too!

So here is my card, I can't take full credit for the technique used, I cased it from Craft Stamper mag, I thought it was so pretty, and very easy, just water coloured with DI then more water added and sprayed over the image to get the splashes of colour! I used this fab stamp from Indigoblu and the sentiment is from Jofy
Thank you for visiting, would love to read what you think? I hope I've inspired you to join in? Have a wonderful day xxx

Zoe - Week # 44 "Mixing with mediums"

Good morning Lovelies, hope your all well?

This week the challenge for Premium Craft Brands DT is mixing with mediums, I've had a go is all I'm saying lol!

We are aware at PCB that not everyone has different mediums to play with or even want to, so this week we are making it "Anything Goes"

I've just used a bit of a cardboard box and took the top layer off revealing the corrugated innards, I mixed together Maimeri Matt Gel Medium and Red Chromium oxide shade Pan Pastel and just smeared in on with a spatula and left it over night to dry, using my fingertips I smeared over various golds and coppers of the Metallic Pan Pastels, I must say "it does look better in the flesh" the stamps and embellishments are Tim Holtz, the pen nib stamped image once I inked it I covered with the Maimeri Glassy medium, again the photo really doesn't do it justice, this was a little out of my comfort zone, but enjoyed it, I hope you like it?

Thank you for visiting, hope you will feel inspired to join in, there is a fab trial kit as prize for the winner xx
