Crimbo makes from the last few days

Good evening Lovelies, well it's been teaming down today! Typical! My daughter comes home tomorrow for a visit from Canada, she's been down with her BF at Heathrow since she landed on Sunday, so I'm very excited :D shame about the rain, they were having a day in London today, hope they didn't get too wet?

Anyway, as I've been rather distracted and excited I decided to take my mind off the wait by making some Christmas cards, I've already made a fair few, I make them all year round when I feel like it, so I'm almost finished, so here's the ones I've made Sunday and today.

Sheena's Embossing folder, inked and silver gilding wax, Tim Holtz dies

Tim Holtz Embossing folder inked and gilding waxed, the dies are also by Tim

3D embossing folder by Spellbinders with Gold and Copper gilding wax

The Figgy Pudding Lane card is an embossing folder by Sheena Douglass, which I lightly inked over with black Stazon, then coloured with DI and did some Faux Bleaching.
All Tim Holtz stamps and bow

Thank you for visiting today, stay safe in this awful rain xx Zoe xx

A few makes from the week

Good evening Lovelies, I hope the weekend has been good for you! Tonight I'm sharing a few of my crafty makes from the week.

I used my Splodgemat with Memento ink to create my reflection first, the stamp is from Crafty Individuals, the sun I created with Pan Pastels the rest was Distress Inks.

I used Ryns stamps and A Touch of Mica mask to create my background and dies to complete my Sealife tag

Scribbly birds from Dina Wakely, the branch is part of a Tim Holtz stamp, the mask is by A Touch of Mica, all coloured with Distress inks.

The background is Pan Pastels on Linen Texture card, I then used Pearlescent Texture Paste through the Cake stencil and sprinkled with glitter, the "Blessings" is also a stencil using Silver Tex Paste, stencils and texture pastes by Sweet Poppy Stencils.

Stamps by Wendy Vecchi Studio 490

Heat embossed in black EP onto Watercolour card this fab Stampendous "Blossom Beauty" then water coloured using Distress inks, the Butterfly is by Visible Image,

I've entered a Challenge in a group on Facebook, the theme is "A Row of houses" we had to make 6, I really struggled with it, so decided to go with "Home" as a theme for my houses, I know they only had to be house shaped and not necessarily houses but I kind of liked the idea of different dwellings!

I hope you've enjoyed your visit to my blog today, thank you so much for making the time, have a fab rest of the weekend xx Zoe xx

July - 12 Tags for 2014

Good evening Lovelies! Where has the summer gone? :( windy and dull, more like October than July.

So today I'm sharing my July Tag for 12 Tags of 2014 check out how this was made by clicking on the highlighted bit.

I had to improvise as I didn't have the dies or the right colour embossing powder, I ended up drawing a Seahorse lol! Ok so it's not that great, but I had a go! For my sand and sandy accents I used Fran-tage, thought it worked pretty well.

Thank you so much for visiting today, have a great evening xx Zoe xx

Wax Crayon resist technique

Good afternoon Lovelies! And a very warm welcome to my new followers.

Today I'm going to share with you a very simple resist technique I've adapted, it's probably been done before? But I've not seen it done this way! I have done very similar technique at a fab Workshop I attend every month in Rochester hosted by the lovely and very talented Eileen Godwin

I started with a mask, you need a fairly "open" design, I used a small text unmounted stamp and Archival ink and just just stamped through the mask, I dried it and cleaned the mask, then replaced it carefully and tacked it down with some masking tape so it didn't slip, I then used wax crayons and coloured in the design, I used coloured crayons but it looks good using just white too, the smaller areas of mask that I couldn't fit the crayon in I inked, I then removed the masked and inked over the whole lot with distress inks. I buffed up the wax crayon bits with a soft dry cloth to remove any ink residue, it also has a bit of a sheen to it, which doesn't really show in the photo. I hope you like my card, thank you so much for visiting, have a great day.

Here's what I've been playing with I hope you like them?

My first card I simply used a "Spritzing tool" with Distress markers through the stencil, bish bash bosh, simple as that!

My second card I used distress inks through the stencil, translucent texture paste then clear micro beads.

I forgot to add this little Damask Bauble tag yesterday it's just done using distress ink for background and 2 shades of pink Adirondack ink ink for the Baubles.

Thank you so much for visiting, please don't forget to tune in tomorrow at 11am on Create and Craft, have a great evening xx Zoe xx

Sweet Poppy Stencils

Good morning Lovelies, from a very wet and rainy Broadstairs, I don't like it :(

So here are a few of the new stencils I've been playing with, well the ones I can show you for now ;) lol

So I'm featuring the Christmas ones today, please pop back tomorrow for another sneaky peep!

I've just created a grungy background with a music stamp, distress inks and flicked distress reinker, then silver texture paste through this gorgeous stencil, "Christmas Holly" once dry I highlighted with white pen to make the design pop!

I created my background with a misting tools and distress markers, I incorporated 2 stencils into this creation, the "Damask Baubles" which I love, I inked through using distress inks, used Transluscent texture paste then iridescent glitter over the wet paste, left to dry for a few hours, "Christmas Holly" stencil I masked off part of the flourish , then used black stars sparkle medium.

I again combined 2 stencils here, the "Reindeer and Sleigh" I used gold texture paste with clear micro beads, left to dry then once dry it did the same with the "Season Greetings", I used Kraft card as my base and matting along with the burgundy which I edged with gold gilding wax.

Thank you for visiting today, I hope you have a fab weekend, xx Zoe xx
