Guest Artist - Unruly Paperarts

Good morning Lovelies! I hope your all well and enjoying the weather?

I'm so very excited today, the Lovely Danie May - Unruly Paperarts editor asked me a while back if I would feature in her magazine as a guest artist! Wow! Me an artist? Lol well for a day I can pretend lol ;) anyway I was thrilled to be asked, so click here to see the article, and in the meantime here's a project I made especially for the my spot!

It's a Wallhanging, I made it from an old cardboard box, I used Silks Acylics by Luminart, the stamps I used as texture are all Inkylicious stamps - Peeled paint background, Ledger Background and Damask Background.

I'd like to thank the lovely Danie for inviting me on this little adventure, please pop along and see it, it's a fab magazine, http://www.unrulypaperarts.com

Thank you for visiting, I hope you like my Wallhanging, have a great day xx Zoe xx aka guest artist lol ;)

Some Sweet Poppy and other projects.

Good afternoon Lovelies! I hope your all well and enjoying the summer weather? I've had a busy day, Thursday is my housework day.

Today I'm going to share some of this weeks projects. I've made some Sweet Poppy Stencils samples and a few other bits.

Check out Sweet Poppy online shop Lucy has a fab sale on, bag yourself a bargain.

My first 2 I inked through stencil using DI and then Transluscent Texture paste with clear micro beads. The sentiment stamp on the second one is from Lavinia Stamps

My third I used Sparkle medium, very plain and simple, but doesn't need too much, my cards and layers were all cut using Spellbinder nesties.
I made an A5 notepad cover using silver mirri card, I embossed with a Spellbinder 3D EF, I sanded it down lightly and distressed it with gilding waxes, the cogs were cut with black card and gilded.

My tag is a combo of techniques including Embossing and gilding waxes, inking, stamping and masks.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments you leave, I'm so grateful you take the time to visit, have a great evening, Zoe xx

Time!

Good evening Lovelies! Another gorgeous day today, sadly I was unable to enjoy the sunshine as I was on a training course :( boo! But hey oh it's my last one for the time being hurrah! :) anyway enough of the silliness!

I have made my first Clock! I'm well chuffed with it, it is a Splodgeboard clock from SplodgeAway, it came with cogs attached to the frame but I carefully removed them with a craft knife.

I Gesso'd first all the components I needed then painted the base Black using Black Soot Distress paint, I then heat embossed with clear EP a flourish and script randomly, both stamps Tim Holtz by the way! Then I used a Rangers paint dabber over it and when it was almost dry I gentally rubbed with a lightly damped cloth over the embossed areas and here and there to create a shabby effect, once dry I used a Sweet Poppy stencil, carefully masking off the other areas, I used glossy black texture paste, also from Sweet Poppy, then left it over night to completely dry, I rubbed a tiny bit of silver gilding wax on one side of each flower and the stems just to add a bit of shadow and shabby chic-ness.

I hope you like it? Thank you for visiting and have a great evening xx Zoe xx

A few makes

Good Evening Lovelies, wow what a fab few sunshine and warm weather, oh I do love the sun, I must say I'm looking rather tanned, been riding my bike and sitting in garden every chance I get!

Here's a few of my creations

My first I used Goosebumps on the background and a flower stencil from Memory box, the flowers are From Sheena Douglass, I love these flowers, the butterfly is from Visible Image.

I used Watercolour card with distress inks, which I swiped across the card and spritzed with water, I stamped the Flowers which are from Lavinia Stamps with Distress inks and spritz with water before pressing onto card, I then used the matching Stencil from Sweet Poppy stencils and used Flitterglue and Black Flock.

Music background by Visible Image, inked with DI then Splats with Distress Stain, then inked through Sweet Poppy Stencil with Pumice Stone DI, dies are all Sizzix Bigz dies.

Sweet Poppy Stencils with Transluscent Texture Paste and ultra fine glitters.

Wrinkle Free distress technique, dies and stamps all Tim Holtz.

Sweet Poppy Stencils, I Zentangled the Parrot and used the Teardrop background stencil with Picked Raspberry and Black Soot DI

Zoe - 35th Challenge - Rhedd and Rosie's, "Anything goes"

Good morning Lovelies! Well what's happened to our lovely summer weather :(

So today is a new challenge, for Rhedd and Rosie's, the theme this month is "Anything Goes" and our lovely Melissa will be choosing the winner, we have a great sponsor too: SBDO

Now anyone that knows me knows I "Don't do digi's" so it's always a challenge for me! I'm pretty pleased how it turned out, I kept it simple as I felt the quality of the image was quite detailed and very well drawn that it needed very little doing to it, I hope you like it?

I used a crescent moon mask and also masked off the bottom half and just used Adirondack inks to create my colourful night sky, then flipped the moon and just used a light dusting of a paler blue to create the shadow of the moon in the snow, the addition of dies, and some Wink of Stella in the snow to finish off. And "Voila"! Sadly the shimmer from the Wink of Stella doesn't show in the photo.

Thank you so much for visiting, I hope you like my card and it's inspired you to join in. Have a great day xx Zoe xx

Sweet Poppy Stencil, DecoArt Crackle paste and Fresco chalk paints.

Good afternoon, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend?

I had a wonderful day with some wonderful ladies at Eileen Godwin's Workshop in Rochester, we ate cake, laughed and crafted, a perfect combo in my opinion! My makes from the workshop are at the bottom of this post, first I'd like to share a "Plaque" I've made, it was inspired by a fab card Eileen Godwin posted on her blog you can check it out here,

I started by sponging Fresco chalk paint by Paperartsy onto card, I dried it then sponged over a slightly darker shade but patchy so it has a motterly effect, once dry I stamped using a Vintage script stamp by Inkylicious in a couple of places using black Archival ink, I then used "The Striped Reed set" from Designs by Ryn stamps, once all dry I then took "Teardrop Background" Sweet Poppy Stencil and placing it randomly onto my card and masking off the rest of the card, then spread a thick layer of DecoArt Crackle Paste, over the stencil, once I removed the stencil I cleaned it straight away in warm soapy water. I left it to dry over night, once dry and the cracks had appeared I rubbed some Pebeo gilding wax over the stencilled design, I used the 2 golds, just to get a bit more texture, I filled in the reeds with white gel pen to highlite them and make them "pop".

Here are my Workshop makes.

Thank you so much for visiting today, have a great rest of the day xx Zoe xx

A few makes from this week

Good evening Lovelies! Phew it's been a scorcher today :) and boy do I love it! It's quite tiring though.

I thought this evening I would share some of my makes from this week. Sorry in advance it's a photo heavy post!

My first card is a very simple one, made with a beautiful Sweet Poppy stencil, I inked first with Antique linen DI and splashed water to distress, then using 3 shades of pink Adirondack ink, I inked through stencil using a stencil brush, the stamps are from Heartfelt.

A variety of TH stamps and the Umberella man die.

Nice bright zingy shades for a challenge who's theme was "Candy" so I did Candy colours, all TH dies and mask, which I inked directly onto the mask then spritzed with water and stamped it onto water colour card.

More Sweet Poppy Stencils, simply inked then I made the face with Bronze Texture Paste by SP.

Thank you for visiting today, have a great weekend, I know I will ;) I'm going to Eileen Godwins workshop.

Hats off to Sweet Poppy

Good morning Lovelies and what a beautiful morning it is, I've done some housework and I'm going to sit in the garden with a cuppa while I wait for the washing machine to finish! Ahhhhh!

So, I've been having some fun with Sweet Poppy Stencils, and made several, but today I'm just going to just share one, I finished it this morning, what do ya think?

I've used a Memory Box mask for the background, for the image I used Distress inks in Spiced Marmelade, Mustard Seed and Barn Door through the stencil, I removed the stencil and dried thoroughly, cleaning the stencil before replacing it carefully and adding low tack masking tape to secure it, then I used a generous blob of translucent texture paste, using the spreader tool first to apply the paste then despensing what's left back into the pot, I then went over a second time, this time a bit firmer to remove and smooth the paste, again replacing what comes off, you actually use very little paste, I must admit, all the pastes I've used, Sweet Poppy pastes are the best for stencil work, perfect consistency without a doubt, then carefully removing the tape, I do sides first then the bottom, leaving the top in place to act as a hinge, then gently lifting the stencil, at this point you can see if any is missing and because the hinge is there you can drop it down in exactly the same place to re-apply, I've never had to do that since using this paste, but that's not to say I won't! Lol! anyway once I was satisfied I got the coverage I sprinkled over glass micro beads and left to dry overnight. The sentiment is from Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi.

Thank you for visiting, have a great day xx Zoe xx

Goosey Goosey Gander!

Good Evening Lovelies! Been a strange old day! Hot and sunny then dark and raining and back again lol!

Well my poor little Ernie (9 year old Shih Tzu) has had a little limp on and off for a long time, we always put it down to jumping off the furniture, we have stopped him lately as it's been getting worse. He's just not been himself the last few days, so thought a visit to the Vets was in order, £208 later with blood tests, meds etc it's decided he has Arthritis and will now be on meds forever! More expense, good job he's insured, mind you the premium is more than the meds now, being old lol! Anyway, he's feeling very sorry for himself tonight! Lol

So tonight I'd like to share with you a card I've made using a Sweet Poppy Stencil along with a lovely sentiment by Sheena, I just thought they went perfectly together!

I used ink to create the reflection and Glossy Black Texure Paste through the stencil, I hope you like it, and thank you for visiting, have a great evening xx Zoe xx

Sweet Poppy

Good evening Lovelies! Wow it's been a scorcher today :) love the warm sunny weather! Well we had a 7 mile bike ride yesterday and 8 mile today! Phew! It was fab though, I'm trying very hard to get fitter and hopefully lose a bit of lard too!

Tonight I'm sharing with you my first 2 cards I've made as part of Sweet Poppy Stencils design team! The lovely Lucy Ellis invited me to join the team and of course I was very excited to accept.

My first card I used the Stencil to ink through first, then once it was heat dried I placed the stencil back over the red design, I use a magnetic sheet under the card, it anchors the stencil down better, I masked off all the part of card I didn't want marked, then using the translucent texture paste with the special spreader tool I scraped the paste over, removed the tape carefully, being sure to leave the top strip in place, as to create a "hinge" then I covered with clear glass Micro beads over the wet paste and left in a safe place to dry over night, so tempting to touch it! Lol

My second card I have used Pan Pastels with a sun mask to create the background, I dusted over the sun with a gold metallic PP to give a lovely shimmer. The stamps are from Dylusions which was stamped with Versafine and I coloured parts in with white pen to give some dimension, then using the same method as the first one I used Black Glossy Texture Paste through the stencil, I didn't use any micro beads for this one, the little bats are dies

I hope you like my cards, please pop along to Sweet Poppy Stencils here for all your stencilling materials.

Have a great evening and thank you for visiting xx Zoe xx

Sneaky peep number 2

Good morning Lovelies, rather wet and dull this morning :(

My sample today is a plaque, I used an old cardboard box and striped back some of the top layer, I gave it a very light covering of Gesso, just to keep it a bit shabby looking, the background I heat embossed the sentiment's in white EP, then I used Silks Acylics by Luminart masking off a sun, the rest is heat embossed with black EP painted with the Silks and fussy cut!

I hope you like today's creation, thank you for visiting and don't forget to tune in. Have a great day xx Zoe xx
