Zoe - 29th Challenge - "Wood/Trees

Good morning lovelies! I hope your week is going well?

So this fortnight Rhedd and Rosie's challenge is Trees/Wood, chosen by Sammy!

Please make sure that your entry follows the theme, we offer a fab prize so we need to be strict with this!! So Wood/Trees need to be your main feature in this entry, just a bit of tree or wood as your background will NOT do!

So here's my sample!

I used Adirondack inks for my background, the stamps are by Lavinia Stamps and rest are dies!

Here's the prize!

Thank you so much for visiting, I hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge? Here the link again

Jofy Tag

Good afternoon Lovelies! Funny day today, was beautiful and sunny this morning, had nice long walk with dog, but since, it's been cold and overcast, can't keep up with this ever changing weather lol!

Anyway as I'd hadn't blogged for a week I thought I'd best just stick something on! Lol I've been very busy doing samples for TV ;) shhhhhhh!

So here's a tag I've made today for a Facebook group! I watched a fab demo on C&C by the fab Leanne using her Spectrum Noirs, and as colouring in isn't my forte I thought I'd have a practice, I usually colour with my colour soft pencils, I never seem to get the shading right with pens. Anyhoo! I'm pretty pleased how it came out, I took my time and kept going back over to get the right shading, I kept it pretty simple with my fantastic Jofy stamps (I adore them) I used an old cardboard box as my base and stripped it back to reveal the corrugated centre which I painted with Antique Linen Distress paint.

I hope you like it?? Thank you for spending the time to visit xx Zoe xx

Happy Weekend

Good evening Lovelies!

Well wasn't it an amazing show on Create and Craft with Sheena, pretty much sold out of everything, I'm so proud to be an Inkoid :) anyway I've had a fab weekend, yesterday spent with Eileen Godwin and her gorgeous ladies at her workshop down in Rochester, always a great day, wonderful inspiration, lots of chatter, tea and cake, and lots of laughter. My first photo is the projects I made at the workshop!

Here's a card I've made for the wonderful Hels Sheridan's blog the theme is "Happy" well crafting makes me happy :) lol! I think this is a "Happy card" I love the little Ladybird is she cute? My die cuts are all Tim Holtz dies, my background is a combo of "Ripped fishnets" by Visible Image and a lovely damask stencil by "Memory box" I used Scattered Straw and Aged Mahogany DI's

And here are a few more of my Inkoid samples from yesterday's show.

I'm sorry there are so many pics today, I hope they haven't bored you? Thank you so much for visiting today. Have a fab evening xx Zoe xx

Sneaky peep #5 Sheena's new stamps

Good Morning Lovelies! I'm off to the wonderful Eileen Godwins Workshop down in Rochester today, so an early and brief post today!

So today is the day that Sheena Douglass will be on Create and Craft at 3pm showcasing these wonderful new stamp plates! Oh my they are fab, gorgeous butterflies, flowers and leaves, the butterflies are large and very lifelike, got great sentiments to go with them too! There is only one show today, so don't miss it!

Sadly I've got to record it and watch it later, I just hope Sheena gets chance to get plenty of demos in without too many interruptions! Lol and that the presenter shows plenty of the samples, we have all worked hard and produced loads, which goes to show how much we love the stamps, I made 21 samples lol.

I'm being a bit naughty today and showing 2 as there are so many!

My first is a 6x6 card so you can see the size of the butterfly which I coloured using coloured pencils, the background is antique linen DI few splashes of water and dried, I then inked my stamp with chipped sapphire DI and spritzed with water before stamping which makes a lovely watercolour effect!

My tag I created an ombré effect with pink DI's, the stem of my little sprig I used the crack from an older stamp set of Sheena's called "Aged Beautifully"
I hope you like my samples and enjoy Sheena's show and of course the stamps, thank you so much for visiting today, have a great weekend xx Zoe xx

Sneaky peep #4 of Sheena's new Stamps!

Good Morning Lovelies! Another foggy one, let's hope it clears up to be as beautiful as yesterday?

So here we have my fourth sneaky peep at Sheena Douglass new stamps which are being Showcased tomorrow (Saturday 15th) at 3pm, there is only 1 hour scheduled so set your recorders, tune in and enjoy! Wonderful stamp sets, you will love them, us Inkoids did!

So here's my sneaky peep for today! I used the "Wrinklefree Distress" technique! I coloured the butterfly with my coloured pencils and then flicked Black Soot re-inker mixed with a bit of water over, just to add some texture and interest!

Thank you for taking the time to visit. Have a great day xx Zoe xx

Sneaky Peep #3 of Sheena's new stamps

Good morning Lovelies! A very foggy morning!

So the fab and talented Sheena Douglass is on Create and Craft on Saturday 15th 3pm showcasing some gorgeous new stamps!

There is only one show so far and us Inkoids have made so many samples there needs to be another couple of hours just to show them lol! We all love them and you will too!

So here's another sneaky peep!
A tag, this time I smeared texture paste thickly over tag being careful for it NOT to be too smooth, I then stamped into it whilst wet with the flower from one set and a leaf from another set, I misted the stamp lightly with water first so they didn't stick into the paste, once dry I just hand stamped the sentiment stamp randomly then painted with Silks Acrylics, it's got a beautiful shimmer, not captured in the photo unfortunately! I love these Silks there are shimmery but subtle and beautiful colours, plus they are more of a glaze so they are translucent, you can mix with water to watercolour wash too, layer up for more depth etc, very versatile.

Thank you for visiting today, pop back tomorrow for another sneaky peep xx Zoe xx

Sneaky peep # 2 - Sheena's new stamps

Good morning Lovelies! In case you missed my post yesterday? Sheena will be gracing our screens on Create and Craft again on Saturday 15th at 3pm with some wonderful new stamps, there is only one show planned so get those recorders set, here's my sneaky peep # 2

I used versamark and heat embossed in gold and coloured with Silks Acrylics, this set looks white in the jars, but "Wow" on dark card they come to life, sadly the shimmer doesn't come across so well in the photo, but it's very pretty.

Thank you for spending the time to visit today, have a great day xx Zoe xx

Zoe - 28th Challenge "Aged/Distressed"

Good morning Lovelies, well here we are another fortnight gone and that means another Rhedd and Rosie's challenge, this time I get to choose the theme and winner! The theme is "Aged/Distressed"

Sandie is sponsoring this challenge and offering this fab prize for the winner:

Here are my tags

My first tag is Kraft card inked with distress inks, I used a TH layering stencil to create a few splodges in Walnut Stain DI, the stamps are all Tim Holtz, I then flicked black soot re-inker over it and highlighted areas with a white marker, I distressed the edges and inked with Walnut Stain DI, a very simple and quick tag.

My second tag is also Tim Holt inspired using his stamps and cogs die and embellishments, this time I used my Metallic Pan Pastels, I used black card for the tag, you need to use versamark to make the Metallic pans really stand out, otherwise they are very subtle, also remember to seal with cheap hairspray before stamping, again I used Black Soot re-inker to spray onto it, and edged with BS DI, the cogs I used the ribbed side of Kraft card and coloured using Black Soot distress paint, once dry I pressed into versamark ink pad but not all over, then used the copper Metallic Pan Pastels, I was so pleased how the cogs turned out looking all rusty and worn, I added my embellishments and voila!

Thank you for visiting! I hope you are inspired enough to join in? Happy days xx Zoe xx

A few makes from this week

Good afternoon Lovelies, wow what a beautiful day today, the sun is shining the birds are singing, such a delight! I thought as I'd not blogged for a few days I would show you some of the things I've made this last week. I'm sorry it's a rather picture heavy post!

1. Pan Pastels on linen card, the stamp is Indigoblu the stencil is by Memory box, sentiment is a SU.

2. Peel offs used as a resist, I used distress stains to colour my tag first then inked over the peel offs with distress inks, very simple but effective, and a great way to use up those redundant peel offs.

Another Peel off design, stamp by Inkylicious.

This Peel off creation I used red and orange Alcohol inks on glossy card, the stamps are Tim Holtz.

This tag I used distress stains and used the airbrush tool thing through a doily mask by Tim Holtz with distress markers and Sheena Douglass stamps coloured with Coloursoft pencils.

Distress stains, Silks Acrylic's through mask, Sheena's stamps coloured with pencils and texture paste through sequin waste.

Silks Acrylics used for all coloured work, Sheena's stamps and a leafy die made from clearly art heatable plastic and frosted film then coloured with archival ink and heated, the sentiment was free with Craft Stamper mag, bit of glitter here and there.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you've enjoyed looking at my makes for this week? Happy Sunday xx Zoe xx
