My calendar pages were masked top and bottom with low-tack tape, I then smeared white chalk paint randomly across the bottom two pages using a wet wipe, once dry I used a stencil to create my moons then masked the moon and coloured using dye based inks, my first calendar I used a witch stencil from Sweet Poppy Stencils which was designed by Tracey Dutton, I used a black ink but very lightly, I just wanted it to be like a shadow.

Well that’s quite a list hahaha!
Thank you for visiting, I hope I’ve inspired you to join in, have a great day xx Zoe xx

My first card is the “Caught in Crystal” technique!

Here I’ve used a multi media card-stock and Distress Oxide re-inkers with water to create my background and the same colours to intensify the eyebrow, I used a white pen to whiten the eye, I used a teal sparkle embossing powder for the flourish in the background and Claire ink for the script.

Christmas by Sweet Poppy Stencils

Good morning Lovelies!

Well, long time since I’ve blogged! I hope you’re all well and enjoying the summer, I know it’s too hot for some but it was a long miserable winter.

Anyhow, I went to Eileen Godwin’s workshop earlier this month, I hadn’t been for 16 months due to having my 2 Foster babies who have now moved to their new forever family.

I’m still grieving their loss, been 6 weeks now. My 6th adoption and it never gets any easier, but it’s what I do and I love my job, apart from the last bit.

So these were what I made at the workshop, using the gorgeous Sweet Poppy Stencils and New Stamps, plus Inks, Gesso, Translucent Paste and other pastes, plus the fabulous new Tag die, my last 3 projects I’ve actually made into tag cards, the largest is quite large which is fab.

I have listed and linked the Stencils at the bottom. I had to finish my projects at home last night as I was on holiday.

Holly borders
Mehndi snowflake
Phew! That was a lot of linking, thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you like my projects, had a lovely time creating them.
Have a wonderful day xx Zoe xx

Sweet Poppy Stencils

Hi there Lovelies, hope you’re enjoying this beautiful warm sunny weather, it’s about time!

I’m sharing with you today some samples I’ve made using this gorgeous Flamingo.

I’ve used a Gelli print background and translucent paste which I left to dry and then hot foiled through a laminator, the stamped sentiment is also from the “Seasons” set by Sweet Poppy.

Another Gelli print background, I stamped subtly using another stamp from the Seasons set and this time I used “Expand it” through the stencil, it’s a unique product, once applied you heat it with heat tool and it bubbles and bobbles, it’s cool, unfortunately it lost the pretty filigree pattern but I thought it looked fab still, once I’d got the effect I wanted I then brushed it with Sweet Poppy Mica powders, mounted onto a canvas that I’d previously coloured and added Gilding wax.

Here’s a large MDF circle which I Gessoed and painted with Sweet Poppy shimmer paints applied very randomly with a blending tool, I inked through the Stencils and with the flamingo I used translucent paste and micro beads.

White pigment ink through stencil then I used the gorgeous pastel pearlescent pastes.

Gelli print background, white pearlescent paste then Sweet Poppy glitters while wet.

Lucy will be on Hochanda later this month, be sure to tune in.
All available to buy here
Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful day, don’t forget your sunscreen xx Zoe xx

Eclipse card

Good morning Lovelies, looks like it’s going to be a lovely day today down here in East Kent.

Today I’m sharing with you my first attempt at an Eclipse card. I don’t get a lot of time to make cards for myself these days, with being on 3 popular Design Teams who all feature on Hochanda regularly, plus I’m a foster carer and currently have two little ones, girl aged 2 and her baby brother nearly 9 months, so free time is a premium at the moment so I’m quite pleased how it turned out.

It’s my Mums birthday next month and she loves cerise pink.

I used my my Scan n Cut to cut 5 Mums to create the depth, 2 in white linen card and 3 in the pink, I used Pennyblack Stamps and Coloursoft pencils to create my image and sentiment.

I hope you like it? And hopefully my mum lol!

Have a great day xx Zoe xx

Exciting new products from Sweet Poppy Stencils

Good morning Lovelies, gosh I’ve been very neglectful of my blog lately!

Today I want to share with you some samples I’ve made for Sweet Poppy Stencils featuring the fab New Dies and Stencils yes you read right “Dies” to match some of the popular Stencils. They cut like cutting through butter first pass!

I’ve used the Poinsettia Stencil with the new gorgeous yellow pearlised paste and cut using the the coordinating die, it’s a little tricky to line up but Lucy advises to make a little mark on the wrong side of the die and about 1cm above the same point on the design, “also a good thing to bare in mind when pasteing through the stencil - writing side up!!! It won’t line up on the reverse!” How do I know this you ask? Hahahaha! So my background is sparkle pens scribbled onto a tile and spritzed with water and then large bubble wrap dipped in and stamped onto card, a few subtle background stamping using a grey ink second generation, and one of the wonderful Sweet Poppy Words simply inked.

A wall hanging made with some Multi media card which I brayered using chalk paints for a random look, again using the gorgeous pearlised pastes and the Mehndi Flower Stencil and Die, I inked over very lightly with black soot Distress ink to knock the whiteness back a bit, I used the Mehndi Flourish Stencil (one of the new Stencils) to create some cohesion to the background and flower using Black Archival ink.

My Christmas card I used the glossy red Paste through the Poinsettia stencil twice and added chunky glitter to the centre and edges while still wet, I created a green layer using a Gelli print in dark greens and just cut with the die, I also used the glossy green paste directly onto my prepared background just to create more depth, I cut and shaped my red Poinsettia’s with die and shaped with my fingers, the pastes dry quite flexible so great for forming petal’s, my background is several layers of Distress Oxides and white pigment ink through the large and small Poinsettia on the stencil, the word is also from a SP Stencil.

My last 2 are made from the same piece of card that I’d created using Distress Oxides. I used translucent paste through the Stencils and once dry hot foiled in black through the Laminator.

Thank you so much for visiting today, I Hope you like my samples, I loved making them. Have a wonderful day xx Zoe xx
