Inspired canvas

Good evening Lovelies, I hope you've had a great weekend.

I had a wonderful afternoon yesterday (Saturday) we had a visit from an amazing little girl who we fostered, she came to us aged 13 months old and stayed 22 months, she is now 6 years old and we see her every year around her birthday. It is such an honour to us that her amazing adoptive parents have kept in touch, it has helped her become a secure and happy little girl, something I thought we would never see in her, thank goodness they have understood her needs, it's been a rocky journey for them and her, but they are reaping the benefits now, fills me with pride and joy, tinged with tiny bit of sadness at the memory of a very different little girl who came to us!

So onward and upwards, today I saw a fab YouTube video on Facebook of a very talented lady Marta Łapkowska, she created a beautiful Journal page, this is her vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=It8vrMVUCvY

I was so inspired I had to play, I created a canvas 8"x10"

Thank you for visiting, have a fab evening, xx Zoe xx

More Dabbles

Good morning Lovelies, well I've been a little naughty lately, I say "naughty" because I've been adding to my crafty stash! I just loved the new stamps by Imagination crafts and just had to have them, now I'm not really a glittery paint type either but I just liked the colours of the Starlight paints too, so oops! They fell into my basket too teehee, I've used them with my 4" round Gelli plate and think they look fab, sadly it's very difficult to get the real shimmer in my photography.

My second card was inspired by Eileen Godwin I gave her some mop up cloths, they are really great, they aren't quite cloth or paper, more sort of fibery, very durable and last for ages, I've not tried washing them, anyway a while back Eileen posted a couple of cards she had made using her cloth and I thought what a fab idea, I hate waste and with all the inky mess I've mopped up it would be such a shame to just chuck it in the bin, so I die cut it and used a TCW stencils with Archival Ink, I edged the design with a silver glitter pen added some sequins and voila!

Thank you for visiting today, I hope you have a great day xx Zoe xx

Zoe - week 2 Challenge 20

Good morning Lovelies and welcome to my blog, today I'm posting my DT sample for Chocolate Baroque Colour challenge and wow! Love these colours, anyone who knows me knows I love colour, the brighter the better.

I made this before Valentine's Day so I thought "Love" would be my theme. I used one of my favourite Chocolate Baroque stamps Dusky Damask which I stamped using Carved pumpkin Distress ink after I'd blended my background, using Carved Pumpkin, Aged Mahogany, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed distress inks and splashed with water for some texture. I also used elements from "Modern Textures" stamp set, few die cuts, sequins and liquid pearls and Voila!

I hope I've inspired you to join in the Challenge please check the blog for the rules, have a great day xx Zoe xx

New Sweet Poppy Stencils pt 2

Good morning Lovelies!

Well! What a week it's been, had great intentions of making lots of samples with the gorgeous new Sweet Poppy Stencils and was struck down Saturday evening with some sort of Virus, been proper poorly I can tell ya, I only managed to eat something yesterday (Thursday) but I'm glad to say "I'm feeling much better, tired and still achy but much better"

Anyway less of my rubbish here are two samples using the stunning Honeysuckle Circle

My first card I simply used an xxl nesting - stitched circle die by Crealies, I applied White Pearlescent Paste by Sweet Poppy through the stencil and while wet added the stunning new colours of Mica Powders also by SP by just sprinkling on generously with a brush, I tapped off all the powder into a piece of paper, sadly it didn't make a pleasant mixture worth saving, it all got a bit brown and muddy, anyway after that I heated it with my heat tool until it bubbled all over, I allowed it to cool before using a large soft brush to clean and buff it all up, I must say it turned out better than I'd hoped.

My second card I used Distress Spray Stains and a Crackle Paste, once dry I used a Gold Gilding wax to highlight the cracks and make it "pop" a bit more, few coloured pearls and viola!

I hope you like my designs using the Honeysuckle Circle stencil, please pop back again tomorrow for a couple more samples using another beautiful stencil xx have a great day xx Zoe xx
